MILLINGTON, Tenn. – A Tennessee man wanted in connection with the 2022 shooting death of a 15-year-old girl has been captured in Slovenia after a years-long international fugitive investigation.
Seth Walls, 23, was arrested Sept. 12 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on charges of second-degree murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
The charges stem from the Sept. 11, 2022, shooting death of 15-year-old Haley Reedy at a home in the 5000 block of Clear Creek Drive in Millington.
The Millington Police Department investigated the shooting and obtained an arrest warrant for Walls through Shelby County Criminal Court. Walls lived in Millington at the time, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
The U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force took over the fugitive investigation on Sept. 25, 2023. Investigators eventually determined Walls had left Tennessee and later the United States.
Interpol joined the search as authorities worked with law enforcement agencies outside the country to locate him.
Authorities found Walls in Ljubljana on Sept. 12. He was using an assumed name when he was arrested, but fingerprints provided through Interpol confirmed his identity, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
“This fugitive investigation spanned three years and overseas to Europe, but the U.S. Marshals Service never stopped hunting Seth Walls,” U.S. Marshal Tyreece Miller said.
Walls remains in custody in Slovenia. The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office and Shelby County Sheriff’s Office are working to have him extradited to the United States to face the charges.
Millington officials said Reedy’s death has continued to affect her family and the community in the four years since the shooting.
“Justice for Ms. Reedy has been a priority since the tragic day and we are glad that our law enforcement partners made it clear that Mr. Walls has nowhere on this Earth to run to,” Millington Public Safety Director Gary Graves said.
The Gulf Shores Police Department in Alabama, Homeland Security Investigations, Millington Police Department and FBI also assisted with the investigation.
