MT. JULIET, Tenn. — A routine traffic stop Friday afternoon led to the recovery of stolen merchandise and the arrest of a Lebanon woman on multiple charges, according to the Mt. Juliet Police Department.

On June 19, 2026, a Mt. Juliet police officer observed a driver operating a vehicle despite having a revoked driver’s license and conducted a traffic stop.

During the investigation, officers discovered the driver, a 48-year-old woman from Lebanon, was allegedly involved in a shoplifting incident that had not yet been reported to police.

According to investigators, the woman admitted she entered a Goodwill store, took a duffel bag, filled it with clothing items, and left the business without paying for the merchandise.

Officers recovered the stolen items during the stop and returned them to the store.

Police also located methamphetamine and hydrocodone in the woman’s possession. Investigators said she did not have a valid prescription for the hydrocodone.

The woman was arrested and transported to the Wilson County Jail.

She was charged with shoplifting, possession of methamphetamine, and simple possession.

Authorities have not released her name.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department said the case highlights how proactive enforcement efforts can lead to the discovery of additional criminal activity.

Officials noted that what began as a traffic stop for a revoked license resulted in the recovery of stolen property, the seizure of illegal drugs, and the arrest of the suspect.
