CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — A Clarksville man has been arrested after police say he used a machete to seriously injure a convenience store clerk during an aggravated robbery Tuesday night.
According to the Clarksville Police Department, officers responded at approximately 10:18 p.m. on June 30 to the EZ Market in the 1801 block of East Boy Scout Road after receiving a report of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found the store clerk suffering from multiple lacerations.
Investigators determined that 23-year-old Aaron Boodoosingh of Clarksville allegedly used a machete during the robbery, causing multiple cuts to the victim.
Detectives worked through the night and quickly identified both the suspect and the vehicle involved.
At approximately 8:55 a.m. on July 1, officers located Boodoosingh at his residence and arrested him without incident.
He has been charged with Especially Aggravated Robbery, and his bond has been set at $150,000.
Police said the store clerk remains hospitalized. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening, and he is reported to be in stable condition.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges may be filed.
