MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Memphis Safe Task Force arrested 29 fugitives Friday, including the second suspect wanted in the fatal shooting of a motorcyclist last month and several other violent offenders wanted in multiple states.
Second Homicide Suspect Captured in Oklahoma
The U.S. Marshals Service announced that Joseph Harris, 37, was arrested without incident in the 6500 block of Lurewood Lane in Oklahoma City.
Harris was wanted on a Shelby County homicide warrant in connection with the July 21 shooting death of a motorcyclist near the intersection of Wilson Street and Gill Avenue in Memphis.
Investigators with the Memphis Safe Task Force learned Harris was in Oklahoma and forwarded the information to the U.S. Marshals Western Oklahoma Fugitive Task Force, which located and arrested him.
Authorities said Harris and Ashundra Lee are accused of killing the motorcyclist. Lee was arrested one day earlier in Oklahoma City.
Attempted Murder Suspect Surrenders
Also arrested Friday was Amarion Threlkeld, 18, who was wanted on charges of criminal attempt second-degree murder.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, task force investigators coordinated with Threlkeld and his family, leading to his surrender near Poplar Avenue and North Danny Thomas Boulevard in Memphis.
In addition to attempted murder, Threlkeld faces:
- Five counts of Criminal Attempt to Employ a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony
- Reckless Endangerment with a Deadly Weapon
Child Rape Suspect Arrested
Task force members also arrested Christopher Warf, 52, who was wanted on a charge of rape of a child.
Warf was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the 7000 block of Rick’s Road in Arlington, Tennessee, after the Memphis task force received information from the U.S. Marshals in Nashville.
Memphis Robbery Suspect Arrested in Georgia
Authorities also announced the arrest of Alvin Lloyd, 29, in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Lloyd was taken into custody in the 4900 block of Riverview Road NW on charges of theft of property valued between $60,000 and $250,000 and armed robbery.
Investigators said Lloyd was one of five suspects accused of robbing the Cummins distribution facility in Memphis.
The Memphis Safe Task Force assisted in Lloyd’s arrest as part of the multi-agency investigation.
