Nashville police have arrested a second suspect in the Nolensville Pike nightclub shooting that killed one man and critically wounded another outside Bucanas Nightclub in September 2024.
Officers booked 20-year-old Kevin Garcia-Soto on Wednesday evening. A South Precinct officer stopped him for playing his car music too loudly and saw that he had outstanding warrants for homicide and attempted homicide, according to Metro Nashville police.
Kevin Garcia-Soto’s 19-year-old brother was arrested in May and charged with homicide and attempted homicide in Juvenile Court. He was 17 when the crime happened. Because he was a juvenile at the time, this story does not name him.
What police say happened
The gunfire broke out September 8, 2024, at Bucanas Nightclub, 3810 Nolensville Pike. Police said it was targeted.
Eighteen-year-old Yasser Paz and 20-year-old Kyaw Naing were leaving the club when a vehicle pulled up next to theirs in the parking lot. Police said people got out and opened fire. Paz died. Naing was critically wounded.
Two-year investigation
Detective Cooper Gauldin is leading the investigation, which has continued for two years. Police said detectives developed information that the shooting stemmed from a prior conflict between Paz and the younger Garcia-Soto brother.
Both suspects face homicide and attempted homicide charges. Charges are accusations, and neither man has been convicted.
The source material did not say how many people got out of the vehicle, whether more arrests are expected, or when Kevin Garcia-Soto will appear in court.
