FRANKLIN COUNTY, Tenn. – A two-month narcotics investigation into reports of drug sales to school-aged children has resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of drugs, cash, firearms and vehicles, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators said the case began after the sheriff’s office received information that residents of a home were selling illegal drugs to school-aged children in the area.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Team launched an investigation and gathered enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for the residence.
On July 27, deputies executed the warrant and seized approximately four ounces of suspected psilocybin mushroom edibles, approximately 1½ pounds of suspected marijuana and THC products, two cell phones and $4,019.69 in cash.
Following the search, authorities arrested Hayden George Ray and Destin Jeremiah Ray.
Both men were charged with:
- Manufacture, Sale or Delivery of a Schedule I Controlled Substance
- Manufacture, Sale or Delivery of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance
- Felony Drug Paraphernalia
- Maintaining a Dwelling for Drug Purposes
- Violation of a Drug-Free School Zone
Using evidence obtained during the initial search, investigators developed probable cause for a second search warrant at another residence linked to the two suspects.
Deputies executed that warrant on July 28, recovering an additional two ounces of suspected marijuana and THC products along with $21,047 in cash.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation is part of a broader narcotics enforcement effort that has produced significant seizures over the past two months.
In addition to the evidence connected to the Ray investigation, the Narcotics Team reported seizing:
- Approximately 24 grams of suspected fentanyl
- Approximately 11 ounces of suspected methamphetamine
- 205 prescription medications, including Schedule II, Schedule III, Schedule IV and legend drugs
- Approximately two pounds of suspected marijuana and THC products
- Three firearms
- Three vehicles
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said several narcotics investigations remain active and that additional details cannot yet be released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
