Wesley Figures and recovered contraband

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A stolen vehicle investigation led to the arrest of three teenagers and the recovery of three firearms after suspects allegedly rammed a police vehicle and attempted to flee from detectives, according to authorities.

Vehicle Crimes detectives located a stolen 2017 Nissan Pathfinder on June 15, 2026, at an apartment complex in the 5800 block of Maudina Avenue in Madison.

Investigators were conducting surveillance when three teenagers, identified as 18-year-old Wesley Figures and two juveniles ages 17 and 15, entered the SUV and drove away.

Detectives followed the vehicle with assistance from a police helicopter and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

According to police, Figures, who was driving the Pathfinder, intentionally rammed a police vehicle before continuing a short distance and stopping near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and 12th Avenue North.

Authorities said all three suspects then abandoned the SUV and fled on foot.

Officers quickly apprehended all three individuals.

During the investigation, detectives recovered a handgun from a backpack that Figures allegedly attempted to conceal in nearby bushes while fleeing.

A second firearm, which had been reported stolen the previous week, was recovered along the flight path of the 17-year-old suspect. Investigators also recovered a third firearm along the route taken by the 15-year-old suspect.

Figures was charged with Vehicle Theft, Vandalism, Evading Arrest, and Contributing to the Delinquency of Minors.

He is being held on a $109,000 bond.

The two juvenile suspects were charged in Juvenile Court with Vehicle Theft, Evading Arrest, and Juvenile Handgun Possession. Authorities noted the handgun possession charge represents a second offense for both juveniles.

The 17-year-old also faces an additional charge of Theft of a Firearm.

The investigation remains ongoing.
