NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A coordinated retail theft enforcement operation at the Jackson Downs shopping center resulted in seven arrests and the recovery of hundreds of dollars in stolen merchandise, according to the Nashville Police Department.

The operation was conducted Monday, June 22, by officers from the Hermitage Precinct and Organized Retail Crime detectives in partnership with loss prevention teams from Target and Marshalls.

Police said the Jackson Downs shopping center remains a high-impact retail area that has experienced ongoing shoplifting activity, making it a focus for enforcement efforts.

During the operation, officers made arrests on charges that included theft under $1,000, organized retail crime under $1,000, criminal simulation under $1,000, multiple counts of theft under $1,000, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

The enforcement initiative resulted in:

  • Seven arrests
  • Eleven criminal charges
  • Recovery of $784 in stolen merchandise, which was returned to the businesses

The Nashville Police Department credited the successful operation to the collaboration between officers and retail loss prevention personnel, saying the partnership helps reduce retail theft and improve public safety.
