MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The Memphis Safe Task Force arrested two men wanted on first-degree murder warrants in separate homicide investigations, authorities announced.

Tyquan Quinn, 27, was taken into custody on June 4 in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on March 31, 2026 in the 700 block of St. Paul Avenue. Investigators said the victim, Eugene McNeal, died after suffering multiple gunshot wounds.

Also arrested on June 4 was Kobe Morton, 21, who was wanted for a homicide that occurred on Feb. 16, 2026. Authorities said Morton was arrested without incident.

The arrests were made by the Memphis Safe Task Force, a multi-agency initiative launched in September 2025 to combat violent crime throughout Memphis. The task force includes federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, along with support from the Tennessee National Guard.

The operation focuses on apprehending violent offenders, serving outstanding warrants, seizing illegal firearms, and locating missing children.

According to officials, the task force has arrested 9,857 violent fugitives since its formation, including 87 homicide suspects, 1,092 narcotics offenders, 940 individuals wanted on weapons-related charges, 105 sex offenders, and 1,046 known gang members.

Authorities also reported that task force members have seized more than 1,682 illegal firearms and helped locate 153 missing children.

Both homicide investigations remain under the jurisdiction of the agencies that obtained the murder warrants.
